support for siberia

A large number of Latvians still live in Siberia.  Unlike Western Latvians, many Siberian Latvians do not possess the means to even visit Latvia.

The Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (LELBA) is forging ties with the descendants of the victims of deportation to Siberia.  LELBA's goal is to bond those still residing in Siberia with Latvia and with Latvians elsewhere in the world.  In this way, LELBA wishes to preserve the memory of those who suffered under communist repression.

Those wishing to further a memorial of deportees and to support Siberian Latvians are asked to send donations and designate them "LELBA Support for Siberia".  Please send payments to LELBA's treasurer Janis Eizis at the following address:
